Taiwan is an island located in
the Pacific Ocean, once named "Formosa" meaning “beautiful island.”
Taiwan's central mountain range has some of the tallest peaks in Asia.
Jade Mountain is taller than Japan's Mount Fuji. The capital of Taiwan
is Taipei, where CCLC is located. Within a day's trip travelers can
visit Kenting National Park at the far south of the island, Alishan and
Sun Moon Lake in Central Taiwan or Taroko Gorge on the East Coast.
Taiwan is also famous for it's many night markets and active temples,
especially Snake Alley and the Longshan Temple. If all the traveling
wears you out, stop in at one of Taiwan's many natural hot springs for
some rest and relaxation.
