The teaching staff of the MTC consists of over 150 experienced teachers who take a genuine interest in their students. All faculty members are native speakers of standard Mandarin Chinese. After passing a rigid qualifying examination, selected candidates undergo extensive training in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. New teachers are approved by the president of the NTNU. Many MTC teachers are also involved in the development of new teaching materials for use at the school. MTC materials are well known and widely used outside the MTC.
