Accommodations: Reasonably priced housing is available in the neighboring area of MTC, which is centrally located in Taipei. Most apartments available for rent in the Taipei area have three bedrooms and are unfurnished. Rent for an average apartment near the MTC is about NT$25,000 per month. Individual rooms are around NT$6,000 to NT$9,000 per month. A security deposit of one to two months rent is usually required. Students often share apartments with other students for convenience, but some students prefer to live with relatives. There are frequently signs on the MTC notice boards in the student lounge. Please note that the MTC does not provide housing and MTC students are not eligible for housing in NTNU dormitories. Most students stay for a short period of time at one of the many reasonably priced hotels and hostels in the city when initially arriving in Taipei before locating an apartment. The NTNU Alumni Hall is highly recommended for 2 or 3 day stays as it is located on the NTNU campus. The Tourist Information Desk at the Taoyuan International Airport will also assist students with finding short term lodgings. Students are responsible for their own hotel or room reservations.
