Late Registration：
  1. MTC still registers students before the registration deadline. However, MTC will charge a late registration fee of NT$1,000 for applicants who register after the new student registration dates.
  2. Your class choices may be more limited due to late registration. You may not be able to select the class times and class type you prefer. If you are interested in taking the intensive class, we urge you to register as early as possible as the seats for intensive classes are limited.
  3. MTC stops registering students after the registration deadline.
1.Who need to take the placement test? How the test is administered?

All new students are required to take the online placement test:https://service2.mtc.ntnu.edu.tw/etest/

The test consists of three parts:

(1) Part 1: Pre-Test – Language Learning Survey
Regardless of your Mandarin background, all new students are required to complete this survey.

(2) Part 2: Listening, Reading, and Speaking Test
After completing Part 1, some students will be directed to select a test level based on their ability.

(3) Part 3: Class Time Preference Selection
After finishing the test, please select your preferred class time.

2.When can I take the placement test?
The online placement test system will be open about one month before the registration day. The official dates are shown on the placement test website. You will not be able to log in outside of the testing period.
3.What is the latest date I can take the placement test?
Please complete the placement test no later than two weeks before the registration day.
4.Which test level should I choose?
After completing the Language Learning Survey (Part 1), you will be informed whether or not you need to take a test, and if so, which level to take.
5.How long does the test take?
Test duration varies by test level:

6.Can I study for the test? How should I prepare for it?
No preparation is required. Please do not use translation tools or other assistance. Take the test based on your real ability.
7.When will I know my course recommendations?
If you complete the test within the deadline, we will send you the course recommendation and payment link via email. If you do not complete the test on time, we will not be able to send you any course information. You must come in person on the registration day to check class availability and pay.
Orientation sessions are held to welcome and introduce new students to MTC classes, rules, facilities; the NTNU campus and visa information.

Notes

  1. Bring your MTC student card with you, in order to pick up your class schedule before starting class the next day.
  2. After the orientation session, our student volunteers from all around the world will give new students a guided tour of each floor of the MTC building and answer your questions.
  3. You can buy your textbooks on the seventh floor on orientation day.
